If you’re looking for an in-depth explanation to this problem, it will be worthwhile for you to go to a mechanic who might have experience in dealing with the make of truck you have. Typically, this type of problem can occur if you only use the vehicle intermittently, and some users of trucks like the 1998 Silverado 2WD have identified problems with fuel leaking onto the spark plugs. Of course, this issue can drastically affect your ability to start the ignition, and you may need to try and pinpoint the different components of the truck that could be to blame.

In most cases, your truck won’t start because of a defective part. Unfortunately, however, getting this vehicle fixed can be an expensive experience. Not only do you have to pay the mechanic for his time in finding the faulty part, but there will also be the new replacement units that need to be added to the vehicle, not to mention the mechanic’s cost of labour for performing this task. If you’ve got hundreds of dollars to spare and you are determined on getting your truck back on the road, this is going to be the best technique forward for you, however, it might be more economical and quicker just to start looking through classified ads for a new vehicle that you can call your noble steed.

If you are a dab hand with mechanics and you know exactly what the problem is, don’t forget there are cheap websites with replacement parts and instructions that can help you cut the mechanic out of everything.

I have a 1992 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 350 engine in it. I drove it for a little over 250 miles one day and about 10 miles from home every time I would hit the brakes or touch any button all my guages would tweak out and go all over the place, or every time I would use my turn signal the guages would go all over the place. I got home and shut it off in my driveway. After that my truck won't start. I was sure my alternator had gone out because my battery was completely dead. I charged my battery and the engine cranks but doesn't fire up. Any idea what could have happened? I have owned the truck for over a year and have had no problems at all with it.

I have a 1992 dodge Dakota it was acting funny for the last 2 weeks it had lost of power at anything over idle and so I started by changing the plugs, plug wires, cap, and fuel filter. Then it acted fine for a day or 2. Then I got on the high way about up to 60 and it lost some power for a minute or too then was fine. I got to walmart and it was fine I came back out and it was running really rough. Mind you I filled my tank and already put gumout ingetor  cleaner in it. The day before and had already ran it 84 miles. After about a half hour my truck started a little rough then I was on my way home the truck shut off... And would not start... So I had a cop push it with their car into a parking lot... Please anyone ? Help ? I'm guessing fuel pump, valves are messed up, or really bad ingetors.

I have a 1995 chevy s10. I took out my audio deck because it would drain my battery when off. I moved the grounded wire from the amp.to a bolt that connected the seat to the truck as soon as I turned the key while waiting for the pump noise of my truck I herd electoral noises either in my dash or in under my hood cranked the key all the way and did not start. Also I notice that I can't press the brakes down very far either and it makes a click noise when pressed.
