Remove and replace plugs only with engine cool! Remove front wheels and secure with jackstand. Believe me this step will make your job so much easier. Remove doghouse and begin to locate the plugs.Remove wheel well liner to access plugs You think you can access from inside the van but your head will be in the wheel well throughout this entire job! . Use ac/delco plugs never the high priced competitors.
If your Astro is 1995 or older replace the distributor button, cap and or entire distributor assembly. Older vans must mark the position of the rotor cap or you will lose your engine's time.
The older Astro's plugs must be changed every 30,000 mile so make notes on how you did it. I think the wires need to be replaced @ 100,000.You will definately get a good challenge but I think anyone can do it if you remove the wheels...
Also cross your fingers that the last grease monkey to change your plugs didn't remove them "hot" like they did to mine before I bought it. That really makes it a pain removing and starting the plugs.
P.S; Remember to buy a tube of anti-seize for the new plugs threads!
