They make a special tool that you can find at any hardware store. The line and filter should have a retainer clip on each side of the filter. Take them off and then take the tool and slide it over the fuel line. Then push the tool into the fitting on the fuel fiter firmly and pull out on the fuel line at the same time. Then when you put the new filter on just push the lin back into the filter and put the retainer clips back on and you should be ready to go.
