Battery might have died because of blown alternator. If a jump-start won't work it probably is alt.
We had the same thing happen with our car.it turned out to be the fuel filter. We hadn't changed it and because of that it was clogged and we had to get a whole new fuel pump and fuel filter. I hope your outcome wasn't so bad!
