If you don't want to take off the intake just take the covers near the windshield off, you will have to take off both wipers as well as the wiper motor. A little more to take off, but at least you don't risk damaging the lines and you don't have to buy anything additional to put back on!

Just take off the intake its not too hard, just take care not to break any vacuum lines to the egr pressure sensor or valve-it don't take much, buy a new intake gasket-inexpensive. And don't over torque the bolts when you put the intake back on as they strip easily.
