The Throttle Valve Cable that runs from your carberator to your transmission is adjustable by depressing the face of the connector.
You can pull or push on the cable after it is depressed.
When you make this adjustment, you are adjusting the cable to be shorter or longer.
If you make it shorter, it will shift early and hard.
If you make it longer, it will shift later and softer.
