1.Start the engine and allow the engine to idle until the transmission fluid temperature has reached the value specified.

2.Depress the brake pedal and move the shift lever through the gear ranges, pausing a few seconds in each range. Return the shift lever to the PARK range.

[note] The fluid vent cap must be removed before checking the fluid level, in order to ensure the proper level. Improper fluid level may damage the transmission.

3.Remove the fluid vent cap.

4.Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
The vehicle must be level, with the engine running
and the shift lever in the PARK range.

5.Remove the transmission oil level control plug

IMPORTANT: The transmission fluid may darken with normal use and does not always indicate contamination or oxidation.

6.Check the fluid color. If necessary, use a small screwdriver as a dipstick.

Check plug is under drive axle on passenger side of transmission it should be a half inch bolt and  the oil filler cap is under hood on top of transmission on driver side its a black plastic screw on cap ..first make sure car has been driven at least 2 miles to warm fluid then with car level  and car running and in park take bolt out  add fluid untill fluid starts to Trickle out when it stops its at Recomended level then put plug bolt back in and snugg it  if transmission is empty it should hold 6.9 quarts but always use method above to check
