How much it will cost to replace the ignition switch on a Honda Accord depends on whether you plan on undertaking the replacement yourself by buying the parts or whether you want to pay for a mechanic to do the job for you.

It is likely that it will be more expensive if you decide to take your car to a garage for a professional mechanic to do the job. If you decide to do it yourself, there are some useful guides online and it has been estimated on www.hondacarforum.com that it would cost between $120 and $150 to do the job yourself.

There is a detailed guide to replacing the ignition switch on a 1998 to 2002 Honda Accord at www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repair/Installing-1998-2002-Honda-Accor

To perform the task, you will require the following tools and materials:
• 10 mm wrench
• Phillips screwdriver
• Flathead screwdriver
• Electrical tape
• Multimeter
• Electrical portion of the Honda Accord ignition switch

The author of this step-by-step guide, Miroslav Djuric, describes the job as one of 'moderate' difficulty and estimates that it should take around 1 hour to complete.

The Honda Accord is a series of compact, mid-series and full-size automobiles that have been sold by Honda since 1976 across the world. The eighth generation version of the Honda Accord went on sale in 2008.

Are you talking about the key switch or the switch itself. The place where you put the key in is not the switch, The switch is farther down on the column towards the firewall. That can be replaced easy, the switch itself will be a little more difficult as sometimes you have to remove the steering wheel and other parts. All the labor is set to a fixed rate and can run as high as $200.00 and more.
