If you have power brakes your vacume hose going to the brake booster is leaking or unhooked or the diaphragm inside the booster is bad. Unhook and plug the vacume hose at the booster and if there is no difference in the brakes then the booster is bad and will need replaced. Cetlaxxx1

I have the same problem. I unplugged the vacuum and the brake became really hard. But I still hear a very loud vacuum leak coming from the pedal area. What do i do? The brake response time is a bit slower then normal. We barely use this car, about once every two months. I notice the sound about a weak ago. It wasn't like that before.

Sounds like a vacum leak, have someone step on the brake while you pop the hood and listen for it. You should be able to find it easy. Once found, plug the vac line back in, problem solved.
good luck
