There are access panels in the wheel wells facing the headlights.  You will have to turn the steering wheel full for easy access for each side.  The panels will pop out with a screwdriver and a little time.  The two tabs are on the outside of the panel.  The light sockets will then be visible.  The low beams are on the outside (9006) and the high beams on the inside (9005).  Turning the bulb assembly counter clockwise will remove the bulb.  The bulbs have three tabs, one small and two large, so the bulbs will only go in one way.  Note:  On my 2001, the 9006 bulb replacements had an L-shaped socket and the OEM bulbs are straight, so it may be a little difficult to insert them properly.  Avoid touching the bulbs as oil from your hands can damage them.  I found the passenger side most difficult on my 2001 PT, so I had to install the bulb first, then the wiring harness because the housing got in the way.  Good luck.
