There is something not working right inside your transmission. Could be some dirt somewhere it should not be.
One thing that you might try that should not cost much is to change the transmission fluid & filter. But DO NOT have it flushed! This can destroy a transmission like yours! Just do a fluid and filter change, thats it. Should cost less then $100.
