The thermostat is located on the rear passenger area of the engine, about half way up... Just behind the exhaust manifold. You're going to need some long extension arms and a flex-joint for your ratchet.

The thermostat is located on the right side of the engine. Follow the upper rad hose to the engine cylinder. And you will find it. Its black. The temp sensor is also located in the thermostat housing.
