There were four different models of the Jeep Grand Cherokee introduced in 1997. The first was a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2WD model having six cylinders and an engine capacity of four litres. This car gave an average of sixteen miles under city conditions and twenty one on the highway. The second was a 5.2 litre version of the 2WD with eight cylinders that gave an average of fourteen miles under city conditions and eighteen on the highway. Then there was the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD, with six cylinders that gave an average of fifteen miles in the city and twenty miles on the highway. Finally there was the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD eight cylinder, 5.2 litre engine that gave an average of fourteen miles in the city and seventeen on the highway. All these averages were based on miles per gallon of regular fuel.
