I have a 1996 dodge dakota p/you with code p0505:
Definition: IAC (Idle Air Control valve) or idle speed higher/lower than expected.
Explanation: The ECM (Electronic Control Module) has detected that the IAC higher/lower than expected. The engine speed is not in it's expected range.
Probable Cause:
001 - Vacuum leak on engine
002 - Dirty Throttle Body
003 - IAC Motor Defective ($41.99)
004 - Poor electrical connection to the IAC valve
