Find the number one piston make sure it all the way to top put a screw driver in the spark plug hole and spin the motor by hand until it falls out if you take all the plugs out it wont have compression and it spins easier. On the rotor make sure its pointing to in number one on the distributor cap put it back together I would pull the timing chain cover off and check the markings make sure there lined up put it back together and get a timing light you hook it up to the battery and also the number one spark plug point it down to the markings on the harmonic balancer loose the distributor a little bit where you can spin it until you get it where you want it on my chevy I set it 8 degrees back and its perfect
