Do not shut the engine off while the vehicle is moving at a high rate. Do not put the car in park while it is moving. If using the hand brake, make sure you are not travelling at a high speed because it will cause the car to skid. The best thing to do is put the gear in Neutral, reach down to pull the pedal by hand. Apply the brake slowly to avoid skidding.
