I would suggest professional help with this. I once took my steering column apart and could not get it back together lol.

Thanks..Advice taken. Cost $700 but they also fixed a pesky shift cable that was sticky..hard to shift...which may have been the root cause of the breakage. Shifts like a dream now. Mr Goodwrench also suggested that a misfiring problem was leaky wires and incorrectly gapped plugs. Recommended a $700 full tuneup I decided to go DIY, replacing wires under warranty, checked my plugs...none were out of spec....car runs great now. Mr GW wanted $200 for just the wires. I'm sure I paid well for the shift lever fix but they had me over the barrel on that one. Thanks ! !
