Sounds like the memory wire is connected to the ignition wire instead of the constant. I believe the color for the ignition wire is red and the yellow wire is the memory wire. Take a circuit tester and find the power wire with the ignition off. If you can't find it check your fuses, most likely it will be blown, if none of the wires light up the tester.
