How much kerosene per gallon of diesel fuel should I use ?
Kerosene is #1 fuel oil and is more refined than Diesel which is #2 fuel oil. Pretty much interchangeable. Go for it.
Off road use diesel is very hard to find nowadays, but fuel additives like Diesel Kleen with cetane booster will help significantly with lubricity, which the sulfur provided, will protect your fuel pump and injectors as well as keeping them clean.
Basically, putting Kerosene in a diesel engine is equivalent to putting ethanol in gasoline. It lowers the BTU, thus burning colder and less efficient meaning worse fuel economy.
The point is that if you're going to mix Kerosene with your diesel (to keep it from gelling in the winter) then use a lubricating diesel additive. Or...Diesel Kleen has a winter formula that is a better alternative to mixing with kerosene. Kerosene is a good last resort in a diesel engine, that's about it.

Yes, The two fuels are closely related.
My great uncle used to run kerosene in his farm tractor all the time . He told me they are exactly the same minus the die used to distinguish the two.
I have 16 hrs. Diesel tractor. It doesn't run good with the newer diesel fuel looks like antifreeze in fuel. Can't find older diesel fuel. Can I run kerosene?
Kerosene will burn in your vehicle but it will burn much hotter. It could harm the injectors if used for a long period of time. Also in some states it may be against the law because the fuel tax is different and the government wants the tax dollars. In my state, kerosene cost more than diesel fuel right now, almost 4 bucks a gallon.
