I don't know if this is "the proper" way to do it, but I would disconnect the coil (wire) in question and insert a screwdriver into the boot. Lay it on the side of the engine with the exposed screwdriver about a half inch from the engine. Have someone turn the engine over and if there is no spark, replace the coil pack.
