You would have to check with your local D.M.V. To see if they would assign a new one or if you would have to use the one on the frame of the vehicle.

57 chevy is inside the driver door near the hinges on the body side not the door its self . Its a 1 inch by 3 inch strip of stainless with the VIN stamped on it.. Jerry
