"special tools" is what the service manager told me at Dodge of Tucson. I have removed every screw I can find in the door panel, tested every module to see if it would pry out...nothing. I believe it cannot be removed by the general public.
I just did this the other day on my friend's recently bought 1999 Dodge Intrepid. First, you remove the 3 retaining screws at the bottom of the door panel. Remove the speaker panel away from the speaker (it is not attached by screws, just clips in). Remove the 3 screws beside the speaker. Remove the 3 screws holding the speaker in place. Inside the door pull, little push in clip, remove the screw there. Inside another push in clip above the door pull, another screw there. There is approximately 14 screws holding the door panel in place. After the door panel is removed, the plug ins for the electronics are located in the appropriate spots. I completely replace the entire door panel, and driver's side door (including window) in less than an hour and a half)
