Replacing the Volvo pollen filter is not very difficult. All you need to do is follow the following simple steps. Raise the hood above the passenger's side fully and you will see two 25 torx screws. These attach the filter into place and have to be unscrewed.

After removing the screws remove the plastic covering that is enclosing the filter. There will be at the centre a clip or fastener that can be released the panel lifted and the filter replaced by inserting a new or clean one and removing the old one. Volvo recommends that you have your filter checked and preferably replaced every 10,000 miles or 16 kilometres.
It is obvious that not replacing the filter will make it inefficient and trapped particles may start to release into the car itself. It is both hygienic and cleaner to have it replaced on time.
