Its not free , but it is cheep. Depending on your state, you can take the vin number to you tax office ( or the state agency you get you tags) most will charge anywhere from $3. To $5.
A free way is, if you know a police officer have him run the vin. Problem with that option is, if it comes up stolen, they are going to want to take the bike. ( Hope you got a bill of sale)

I have yet to find anything free on the net that is useful when it comes to this type of info & I have been on the net since the 90's
www.edmunds.com don't give any owner info, just the value.
