  • About the New Indianapolis Airport

Situated in Indianapolis, a city well known for its business district, in Indiana, the Indianapolis International Airport is a well known American company that does approximately 156 flights per day to more than 30 different destinations.

Once known as the Weir-Cook Municipal Airport, the Indianapolis Airport has only had three accidents to date, its worse arguably being that that happened in October of 1994, where the American Eagle Flight 4184 crashed into a field close to the town Roselawn, in Indiana. All the passengers, of which there were 68 in total, had hoped to be going to Chicago, but instead died as a result of the tragic incident. They had not long left the Indianapolis Airport when problems arose.

The other two accidents, which occurred in September 1969 and October 1987, also resulted in deaths, with the first killing 83 people in total.
