It depends on whether the heaters are blowing but not blowing out hot air, or if they are simply not blowing out any air. If they are not blowing out any air, it is most likely to be a blown fuse or a loose wire which is causing your heaters not to work. It is possible that the motor has broken for the fans and if this is the case, you will need to purchase a new one and either replace it yourself or pay a mechanic to replace it for you. It is fairly simply to install and can be found under the dashboard on the passenger’s side.

If air is coming out of the vents but it is not warm, it is most likely is the heater core shut off valve. This can be found next to the air-conditioning lines where they go through the firewall. If you know what to look for, you have to take off the wiper and filler panel as this would be where to begin the trouble shooting. You should also check the thermostat of your car as this could be what is causing the problem. A clear sign that your thermostat does not work occurs when the engine does not run anywhere near 195 degrees Fahrenheit after running for about 15 minutes. This suggests that your thermostat is most likely stuck open and, therefore, your engine is not warming up to operating temperature. Just watch your temperature gauge on your next trip out.

Be aware other issues can cause this as well. Water pump failures and blockages in the system can cause cold air blowing from the heater as well. If the air is cool or warm it is suggested that you check the thermostat first.
