It is located in the dash board. Complete dashboard removal is necessary for replacement. Usually when your heater core goes out it's because of a leak though. Check the heater control valve. Another culprit for low heat situations is radiator additives such as Stop Leak. These additives have a tendency to clog up heater cores.
