Nobody attaches the fuel pump to the block anymore. You are showing your age. Almost all cars have them in the tank. Now they can charge you $350 for a pump instead of $75 for the "old school" version. You will have to drain your tank before you drop it, gas weighs about 8 pounds per gallon.
