If you cannot put your truck in any gear other than reverse then you more than likely have a transmission problem; more specifically a blockage in your linkage system that could either be an easy fix or something a lot more difficult.
The first thing to do is to check your transmission fluid. If this is running low, it can cause cars and trucks to be only capable of driving in reverse, due to the reverse gear having less power than forward gears. Open the hood and check the fluid levels for the transmission which may or may not be combined with the brake fluid. If it is low, then you have found your potential problem so purchase some transmission fluid and refill your level.
It is possible that it is not due to low fluid levels in which case it will be a potentially serious mechanical fault which will require the attention of a fully trained mechanic and a tow truck to transport your vehicle to the garage. It would be worth, in this case, phoning any local garages who may have done repairs on your truck before and ask their advice on the matter and get a quote for the work.
Alternatively, if you have a level of training you could attempt the repair yourself. However, it might be a very technical job which is best left to the professionals. If you are sure you want to carry out the work yourself you will need to buy the repair manual for your truck and thoroughly research what the work entails. If at any time you feel you cannot fix your truck it is best left in the hands of a trained mechanic.

Well if you get in the car and start it up, when its in neutral rev the engine as well as in park should do the same thing basically it will feel like the engine is under a load the engine will not rev all the way up to the red line or even close for that matter what this means if that happens is that clutches inside your automatic transmission are burned out basically your trans is fried. There is tiny ball bearings in the transmission that go throughout a maze inside your tranny its what gets the tranny to shift throughout the gears between that and high pressure. Well when parts burn up it leave metal shavings all throughout the tranny which in turn clog the ball bearings from doing what they need to do!
