I'm assuming you are driving a car with a vacuum operated HVAC system. Most of the time the vehicle develops a vacuum leak in one of the vacuum hoses that control your Heating and Air conditioning. I have also seen the control head in your dash that goes bad as well. I wish I knew what kind of car we were talking about.
