This is probably a "V" engine like a V6 or V8.

This code means that the left bank of cylinders in the V is running lean. Lean running means that there is too much air and not enough fuel. In general this is caused by air leaking into the intake system thru a leaking hose or gaket.

Since a lean running engine can mean higher combustion temperatures it is important to get this fixed soon before damage has been done.
