Harley Davidson Motorcycles are manufactured in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in United States. The is thought to be founded in the year 1903, its work actually began in the year 1901 when William S.Harley (21 years old) started to work on the plans for his engine that would be fitted on a pedal –bicycle frame. He was helped by his childhood friend Arthur Davidson. The bicycle didn't fit their expectations and they remodelled it. The new bicycle was first sold in 1905 and in 1906 both the friends set up their first factory.

No new competitor in the market stood Harley Davidson in the 1910s. They provided their machines for World War I and further improved upon their motorcycles in the 1920. The company supplied new version of WLA for the World War II and Korean War and terminated its production at the end of the wars. It faced a labour strike in 1969 owing to reduction in workforce and its take over by American Machinery and Foundry. The machines were expensive and substandard. Willie G, Davidson bought the company back in 1981. Harley Davidson won back its lost image in 1990s and is still a respected brand name.
