Most air bag problems on escorts between 95 & 98 are caused by the following.
If the vehicle has seat belt pretenioners fitted you can identify by looking under the seat. If there are to wires joining to the seat belt stalk under the seat the between block normally right on the underneath of the seat is normally the trouble. Cut each wire one at a time & rejoin with butt connetors even though you can probably see nothing wrong with the between. The terminals suffer from oxidation.
