There are so many different answers for this question because the range is so large. Starting over the road drivers can make as little as $30,000 (30 cents per mile average starting) and make their way to $50,000-$60,000 within a few years. Owner operators can make six figures, but only by spending all their time on the road (2-4 days at home per month or less). I am a local truck driver and get paid hourly. If I only worked 40 hours a week I would make about $49,000. But with overtime the last four years have all been between $59,000-$65,000 (this varies according to the economy and usually goes right along with consumer spending).
It depends on how many hours you work.
It all depends on the experience and how much will you work. If you are looking to get into this field become an owner operator lots of $$$$$$
