Poda-poda means share taxi. It is considered as a form of transport and generally falls between that category of private convey and conservative bus transport. This generally has a fixed roadway but in this route the vehicle can stop anytime and anywhere to pick or drop passengers. The usual difference between a regular and a shared taxi is that these taxis are shared. The different types of shared taxis are minibuses, minibuses, covered pickup trucks, station waggons, or lorries

Share taxis fall on two different models. On one hand it is either operated by a particular company or even under a contract with the public transport company. These taxis are mostly owned by certain individuals who own the taxis themselves but do not drive it, instead they hire either hire drivers on daily basis.
