The Santa Fe is a mid-sized Sports Utility Vehicle produced by the South Korean car manufacturer Hyundai. It launched the Santa Fe in 2001 and was an instant success. Now on its third 'generation,' the Santa Fe remains one of Hyundai's most popular cars.

Compared to its immediate predecessor, the 2003 Santa Fe, there were few changes. Of the two models released in 2004, the only differences were in a relocated radio aerial, a slightly revised climate control format and an audible notification as part of keyless entry system.

The 2003 Model Saw Hyundai Respond to Customer Concerns

The 2003 Santa Fe had received a new optional 3.5-liter V6 engine, which produced 200 hp. It came standard in the LX trim, along with a new five-speed automatic transmission. The audio system had been upgraded to a 6-CD changer, and all Santa Fe trims received side-impact airbags as standard for 2003.

This takes us back to the 2002 model and the first set of changes since the line was introduced. Hyundai increased the size of the fuel tank from 17 to 19 gallons and reorganized the tailgate badges. The interior layout of the console was also changed.
