If money were no object, what car would you have and why?

Honestly if money didn't exist and I could buy ANY car, it would probably be a 2005 Ford Thunderbird. The Thunderbirds from all years looked great, but every time I see one of those it's really eye-catching to me. Beautiful car on the inside and out!

I know this one is a bit generic, but if I had all the money in the world I would definitely buy a Porsche 911!

For some reason - and I'm not entirely sure why - I've always wanted one ever since I was knee-high. I think it's because they look so appealing, and because the intial design hasn't ever really changed a great deal.

Porsche 911

The downside to owning a Porsche would be that no one would ever let me out at junctions, and other road users would have a general distain for me. But this is only a small price to pay to own such an exciting car.

There would be no point in paying out for a super-car as you would never be able to use them to their full potential on the UK's roads. Porsches on the other hand have that blend of functionality and performance that few other like-minded vehicles possess. Plus, they look amazing!

1971. it had a small oil leak. That was enough of an excuse for my best friend and myself to pull the motor and trans and do a rebuild. I put in a small camshaft, four barrel carb and a shift kit in the trans. I only had to pay a mechanic $275 to straighten it up. Lol! The intake manifold gasket was leaking and I made a mistake in the transmission. After he fixed it she ran great! :)

Ah, nice. That's impressive! Just a quick fix makes it work like it's new again.

It did too. I drove it for a year then found a 1934 Plymouth Coupe. It had a 340 V-8 motor with a tunnel ram. The top was chopped and it looked hot! It was burgundy with a black interior. Unfortunately it had 5/13 gears in the rear for drag racing in the 1/8th mile, so top cruising speed was 50 mph. :(

A lot of people have heard of this car, and most love it. I love the McLaren F1 simply because it's pretty and understated for a supercar, but because it's one of the most amazing cars to drive. A fantastic car to look at and drive.

Somehow this thread has lead to browsing pictures of people drag racing Ford Anglias: http://www.anglia-models.co.uk/saloon-photoc00.htm

On the racing circuits around Southern England (Brands, Lydden, Thruxton etc.) 40 years ago there was a "Jaglia" - A Ford Anglia with a 3.8 litre Jaguar engine. It went like a wild thing, but bits kept falling off (including a rear wheel complete with halfshaft, on one occasion, - it completed more of the race than the rest of the car).

For me it would be a Corvette. I don't know what it is about them, but they turn me on. I have had two in the past, a 1980 and a 1976. I would love to have a new one in yellow.

I love the Corvette. I like most of their generations, however as Mike implied, the C6 wasn't really all that good. That being said, I love the ZR1.

My actual favorite is the 1970 Stingray with the 454 engine and a automatic transmission. Of course it needs to be and automatic and since is is 2013 It has to have a frame off restoration.

I can't afford any car and haven't for about seven years. Any car would make me cry with relief. If I could pick, 1978 Ford Mustang. It was the only car my dad ever bought brand new in my life. He bought it the year I was born. I remember being a little girl  trying to throw my gum out the window driving down the highway and it smeared all down the side of the car. I got in so much trouble. He still has the car on blocks in his garage. I wish I could drive away with it.

Haha, maybe he'll give it to you one day. I admit to have doing that before.. except I was spitting out of the window. The '78 Mustang is pretty, and fairly conservative-looking. Not really Mustang-like, but it looks nice.

As for me, I would buy Porsche. I just like Porsche for its style and speed. I would buy something of this kind:

Would you go for a typical red one or a different color all together?

I read somewhere that insurance companies charge higher premiums for people that drive red cars... but I think that might be a myth!
