I think all cats are scared of vacuum cleaners because it's like sonic boom loud to their impossibly sensetive ears...you can't really do anything. When you vacuum, you just have to let the kitty run away while you vacuum, unless you want to trap it somewhere while you do but not near the vacuum, it probably hurts their ears :(
