When a private company operates any business - airport or otherwise - the managers of the business are under pressure to provide the maximum amount of return to the investors. This creates a conflict as people and businesses who use the airport want minimal fees. Considering how poorly governments operate most things that they do I would think that private ownership would result in a better operation.
