It seems as if there is something terribly wrong with your car. My only advice would be not to experiment anything on your car and immediately go to a car mechanic. The mechanic will completely check your car and take the following steps. The problem that you have indicated really shows that it needs help of a professional mechanic. If it was a small problem, I would have recommended you to do it on your own. It seems like there is some connection lose in the engine of the car which is preventing you to start the car. There also might be some connection in your car that might be heating up too soon and causing your car not to start and after the connection cools down after four hours, it might start again. You may mention these things to your mechanic which will be very helpful for him as well.

The chevy 6.5 ltr. Have a notorious problem with the PMD or FSD it is a small electrical box on the fuel pump. It gets hot and then fails. It can be replaced with and mounted in a cooler place without a lot of tools.it cost a little under 300 bucks. Ide almost guarantee this is your problem look this up on ebay and save yourself a ton of money

I recently had a similar problem with my 94 Chevy 6.5 diesel.  It would restart after one hour, but not before it sat and cooled.  Was a inconvenience and stranded me a couple times when I shut the engine down to run into a store and would not restart.  Took it to my local diesel mechanic and turned out to be the boost pump.  And we had just replaced the glow plugs, so they were not the problem.  It runs great now and no problems at all restarting.
