The fact that your transmission is jerking when you shift gear indicates that there is a problem with it. It may be that your transmission fluid is too low, which means you will have to top it up.

It's good that you already have purchased some intake spray for the transmission. Hopefully this will solve the problem.

My car jolts when it changes gears
  • There should be a nut on your gear box which you can spray the fluid into. This will top up the fluid and therefore lubricate the gears - and hopefully stop the jerking.
  • I cannot give you a more accurate description of where to insert the spray as the location of the nut is different with most manufacturers!
  • If you have found the nut and successfully topped up the transmission fluid then check if the car is still jerking when it shifts gears.
  • If the problem is still occurring then the best course of action would be take the car to a garage.
  • Unfortunately most transmission issues are not easy to fix, so unless the intake spray works then you will have to be prepared for a hefty bill from the mechanic.
I hope the intake spray works for you!
