The u.s government says electric cars like the tesla and nissan leaf and toyota prius which is a hybrid are not noisy enough and are dangerous so how do we make them noisy??

They are definitely quiet, I drove a Ford fusion hybrid and when you're running on battery....you have no idea the car is even running....maybe fake engine noise needs to play through the radio

I suppose you can make your own.

Put Winter tires on them. They make lots of noise. (true they wear down more rapidly, and are more expensive, but you must pay for noise)

The US Govt says a lot of things, not all of it true, useful or worth a damn. Always looking for ways to justify another "study".

Drag a cow bell behind it?
Play loud rock music?
Mount a trumpet as a hood ornament?

I was gonna say just put a bunch of kids in the backseat! That will be noisy! Lol

I heard yesterday that the hybrid cars must "make noise" by 2019.

I would assume the nose would have to be something that we could easily and restrictively associate with a "car" so that it would serve a function that the noises normally associated with vehicles do in our awareness so that we can avoid getting run over..
