Many companies are making bicycles out of carbon fiber and bamboo now. There are a lot of items that were once made of steel that are now made of other strong materials.
Why are things, like bicycles, made out of metal/steel?
Light weight. I have a giant brand bicycle that is aluminum
Steel is the cheepest way to make a bike, the higher end bikes are made from carbon fiber or aircraft grade aluminum.
