How Do I Set Timing On 1998 Mazda 626?

You would need to pull the timing cover off which should be on the left side. After doing so make sure all the lining up marks on the sprockets match with the ones behind them on the block and the tensioner is in good order. It's a big job and best to send it to a shop. If you get it wrong you could bend the valves and a whole another issue will arise... Good Luck
