Only 500 Land Rover Defender 90 SV models were built, so it is a rare Landy and quite sought after. Original buyers had the choice of a full options list, so no two 90SVz are likely to be exactly identical. They were all, however, painted in Caprice metallic paint.

Other standard factory fitments were County-style seats, side sill steps, a unique foam covered external roll cage, front nudge bar, waterproof weave soft top with roll up side and rear windows. To complete the fun vehicle image, the 90SV had a side-hinged tailgate and a swingaway spare wheel carrier.

Most will be up around the 100,000 miles mark by now, but hopefully, given their exclusivity, they have been well looked after and command a higher premium than comparable 90s of the same vintage. It is certainly a head turner and guaranteed to get you embroiled in conversations with other Land Rover drivers.

There were only 90 90SVs built all RHD and all Caprice metallic. They had limited options from new but were often customied afterwards. Many went to Africa as it didn't selll well so probably only 60 or so in the UK now.

There were only 90 Defender 90SVs built. The majority went to the UK but it didn't sell well as it had the frankly agricultural TDi engine and not the V8 that went into the NAS 90 for the USA. A number were shipped to Africa so probably no more than 60 or so in the UK.

Actually there were 91 built but only 90 numbered. The extra one was meant to go to middle east but never made it
