The front and back brakes are on two independent hydraulic systems.  Either the master cylinder is bad, or it doesn't have enough fluid in the rear compartment, or it is clogged, or you have a pinched or clogged line going to the back.  I would start by inspecting the hydraulic line from the master cylinder to the rear tee, and if you can't find anything, remove the line at the master cylinder and see if you can pump fluid out there.  Then reconnect it and try to see if it pumps fluid at the tee between the rear wheels (don't forget to wear eye protection).  That should tell you if it has a pathway to the rear or if the master cylinder needs replaced.

Compensation/combination valve, even the delco/delphi abs system has these valves to isolate the front or rear brake circuit depending on which one has lost pressure, you may have a leak in the rear brake circuit..or a crimped line, inspect lines then refer to manufac for bleed process

If your lines are rubber they can be braking down the rubber on the inside and clogging them. But if its happening to both sides, I would say something is wrong with your main line running to the back. Is it disk brakes on the back?
