When the brake lamp light comes on, it means that one of the light bulbs is out and need to be replaced. Check the Brake lights.

Hi,

It is possible that the brake fluid is running low. You need to add more brake fluid in the brake fluid bottle. This will turn the indicator off automatically.

In very rare cases, due to short-circuiting, the indicators light comes on; but if you haven't  done anything to the engine or wiring , you don't need to worry about the wiring.

You can check the brake fluid bottle in the engine to see the current fluid level.

Hope it helps.

If a brake light does not work, the BRAKE LAMP indicator comes on when you push the brake pedal while the ignition switch is ON. The faulty brake light bulb needs to be replaced.

From the brake pedal, close to where it is hinged on the firewall, there is a rod going aft (towards the back of the car) and a little up.  This rod has a nut (to adjust the point at which the brake lights turn on) and ends at the brake light switch.  It's a little to port (left side of car) and above the steering column.  There is a two- (for non-cruise) or four-prong electrical connector - green on my 1993 - that plugs into the aft (towards the back of the car) end of the brake light switch.  I don't know how the brake light switch attaches to the car yet, but I'll find out Real Soon.
