I unpluged mine on the back at 21,000 miles and use my navagator to see speed. My truck is a 2005 I rack up tons of miles while working. I hooked it back up so I could get some dealer service work ( air cond compressor ) and it now shows 21,177, but it really has about 120,000 on it now. No one will ever know cause My truck looks like new.
I will sell it next year at + or - 186,000 and get a killer price with it showing 22,000 miles on it.
