I have a 1994 Jeep Cherokee. I need to disconnect the alarm because the car won't start.

Just take out the relay that controls the loud horn making noise for the alarm, the remote should still work locks etc. If no relay then just disconnect the loud horn installed under the hood with the aftermarket alarm. If it is a factory alarm system, then there should be silencing settings for the alarm which will allow you to keep your system intact as installed, talk to the dealership or read up in the manual for the vehicle.
