Car Stereo Wiring Color Code?
I just bought at 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS and found the same problem. Here's what I've learned so far:
1st- You may need to enter the security code. You'll need the serial number that is on the top of the stereo (you must pull out the factory deck to find this). Call a Mitsubishi dealership-they gave me my code for free.
2nd-If you have an Infinity Sound System (it should say so on the factory deck) then you will have an amplifier under the passenger seat. My problem came here because the amplifier suffered water damage and was toast. A Mitsubishi dealership will charge you $840 dollars (no lie) to replace this amplifier. So if this is your problem, you can go another route by purchasing a new deck. However you will have to pay extra for labor to rewire from under the seat to the new deck. This is if you are bypassing using an amp altogether, which is what I did. OR you can buy a new amp AND a new deck but there will still be some work to be done to make everything compatible.
